Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) training is required for anyone who operates or supervises aerial or scissor lifts in the U.S. and Canada. This course meets that requirement with a powerful combination of instruction, practice, and OSHA-approved curriculum.
SCISSOR LIFT Certification Includes
Safety Fundamentals
Learn how to meet OSHA, ANSI, and ISO safety requirements through pre-check procedures, hazard recognition, and safe work practices. You’ll gain a clear understanding of how to stay safe while operating both scissor and boom lifts.
Equipment Operation
Operate MEWP 3A and 3B lifts through hands-on instruction. Practice navigating different job site conditions using an aerial lift obstacle course that simulates real work environments.
Practical Assessment
After completing the instructional portion, you’ll be tested on your ability to safely and accurately operate the lifts. This skills evaluation simulates the challenges you’ll face on the job.
Certification
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive MEWP Certification valid under OSHA, ANSI, and ISO standards. The certification is valid for 3 years.

What This Certification Covers
This 8-hour class covers both MEWP 3A and 3B classifications. You’ll learn how to operate aerial lifts that move vertically (scissor lifts) and those that extend beyond the base (boom lifts). The course is fully aligned with OSHA 1910.67, OSHA 1926.453, A92, and ISO standards. Instructors will walk you through safety procedures, equipment controls, and real-world job site scenarios using both lift types in a custom-built obstacle course.

Your MEWP Certification for aerial lifts is valid for 3 years.
Bring a form of ID, closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (we may train outside), and a lunch item or snack for 8-hour sessions. We do have a refrigerator. Seat Time provides PPE as necessary, water, and coffee.
We want every student to succeed. If you don’t pass the first time, Seat Time provides a free retake with extra support from our instructors.
Yes. You may reschedule your training session if you contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class.
